thorium lantern mantle
This classical spectrum was taken from a Thorium lantern mantle. Thorium lantern mantles are mostly used gas camping lanterns, and are made from a woven glass fabric containing some Thorium.
The data was recorded with GS-900 and PRA, and a 1.5” x 2.0” NaI scintillator. As the check source is relatively weak, the data was collected overnight (37,000 seconds).
The histogram was first recorded with PRA, and exported to Excel.
All the main peaks in the thorium series can bee seen in this spectrum.
