Port Heritage Jewellers commenced in July 1988 at 25 Horton St, Port Macquarie and we are still at the same location.
At commencement, Steve Burt was the only fully qualified watchmaker in Port Macquarie, and has since trained two apprentices, to become fully qualified tradesmen. The last of the two was Duncan, his son, who after some years overseas working, returned to join the family business.
Steve has over 40 years experience in the jewellery industry, having been first trained by the Swiss and then working for Seiko, throughout the 70’s and 80’s becoming among the first watchmakers to be trained in Quartz watch technology. Steve went on to teach at Seiko and seminars around Australia, only leaving Seiko to relocate to Port and open Port Heritage Jewellers.
Duncan Burt has now been a qualified tradesman for over 10 years and has been taught the most modern and up to date advances in watch and clock design and technology.
Both the boys specialise not only in modern watch and clock repairs but also in restoration and repair of antique pockets, watches and clocks.
Sheryl Burt has been involved in the jewellery industry for over 40 years. Sheryl’s enthusiasm for jewellery design and hand-making of jewellery, as well as her keen interest in gemmology sets her apart from her peers. Sheryl has the exceptional ability to understand a client’s tastes and style so as to design and handicraft a ring or another piece of jewellery just as they imagined, something individual and uniquely their own.
Our final team member is Adrienne, who has been with Port Heritage Jewellers since 2004 and has over 14 years experience in the jewellery industry with associated accreditations.
